What’s next, after FDA’s full approval of Pfizer vaccine?
A COVID-19 vaccine originally authorized for emergency use in the United States reached a milestone today, with the Food and Drug Administration giving Pfizer’s vaccine its full approval for people ages 16 and older.
Pfizer’s vaccine will now be marketed under the name Comirnaty. For children ages 12-15, it continues to be available only under emergency-use authorization.
In downloadable video assets, UW Medicine general internist Dr. Joshua Liao explains how the approval could affect vaccine rates, vaccine mandates and booster shots.
