Segment: Artificial hips, but a real zeal for activity
"I feel at least 20, 25 years younger," says Warren Buck, 72, a baby-boomer who has rediscovered his active self a year after his second hip replacement at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center.
His UW Medicine orthopedic surgeon, Navin Fernando, says he is witnessing a trend of "exponential growth" of patients choosing to have hip and knee replacements -- and doing so years earlier than was the case for previous generations of patients.
