Orthopedic surgeon discusses Russell Wilson’s recovery

When the Seattle Seahawks travel to Green Bay to face the Packers on Sunday, a familiar star will be under center for the visiting squad. Russell Wilson’s mallet finger and joint fracture dislocation injuries to the middle finger of his throwing hand have improved enough for the team to anticipate activating him for the matchup.

Dr. Jerry Huang, an orthopedic surgeon at UW Medicine’s Hand, Elbow & Shoulder Center, says two simple factors could help Wilson make a smooth return.

“Assuming he has his range of motion back (and) assuming he's pain-free, I think we can be pretty confident that Russell's going to be back to his old self,” Huang said.
