Update: UW Medicine response to COVID-19

Certain models of COVID-19's progression estimate that UW Medicine clinicians may need to care for an additional 650 to 750 patient cases in the coming weeks. Lisa Brandenburg, president of UW Medicine hospitals and clinics, talks about the health system's recent efforts to prepare for that. Those efforts include setting up drive-through screening sites, implementing triage tents outside of emergency departments, and canceling elective procedures.

"We are all in this together and it’s really important that we don’t let down our guard yet," she says, referencing the continuation of physical distancing and hand hygiene.
