Update: Safety measures for patients and staff

As we continue to see a gradual reduction in COVID-19 cases in our community, UW Medicine is welcoming more patients back for in-person visits. With that comes a variety of measures to keep patients and staff safe. Lisa Brandenburg, president of UW Medicine hospitals and clinics, offers rationale for those steps, which include proactive COVID-19 testing for all patients before surgical procedures and mandatory screening of all UW Medicine staff. There is also universal masking and mandatory health screening of all UW Medicine staff.
