Treatment options for hot flashes, night sweats

An online search for non-hormonal relief of menopausal symptoms might pop up suggestions for exercise, yoga, and even an herb called black cohosh.  A new study, however, indicates those are not particularly effective at curbing hot flashes and night sweats.

The research team did identify viable alternatives to estrogen therapy, says Dr. Susan Reed, the lead author and a clinician at the Women's Clinic at Harborview.  Reed discusses the findings in the video below. See our related news release.
