Recognizing symptoms of endometrial cancer
Endometrial cancer is one of the most common gynecologic cancers in the United States, but it's one of the least known. That's why Kemi Doll, a UW Medicine gynecologic oncologist, is on a mission to raise awareness. She co-founded an organization called Endometrial Cancer Action Network for African-Amercians, in part because black women have a 90 percent higher mortality rate from endometrial cancer than all other female groups in the United States.
She says it's most important to recognize the disease's symptoms, which includes vaginal bleeding after menopause.
