Pancreatic cancer survivor: 'Every patient is unique'

Miggie Olsson says that when she learned she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer, it felt like a death sentence. Twelve years later, she knows she's an outlier, based on statistics, but she hopes her longevity will be more the norm and less the exception with current and future patients.

UW Medicine researchers are currently working on a blood test that would find markers indicating whether someone is at risk to develop pancreatic cancer. For details, see our related blog post.
