Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrives at UW Medicine

UW Medical Center – Northwest administered its first doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for COVID-19 on Thursday, March 11.

"The reaction has been very positive. Most people who are in line and find out they are getting Johnson & Johnson are thrilled to have a one-and-done vaccine," said Jennifer Brackett, the hospital's assistant administrator of ambulatory clinics.

Clinicians administered 250 vaccine injections of the J&J formulation on Thursday; they were available as part of a special, one-time allotment of 1,000 doses distributed by Public Health–Seattle & King County.  Clinics are operating at four UW Medicine hospital campuses to provide vaccines to patients, staff and community members who meet Washington state's current criteria.
