Gina's story: a miracle and message of hope after loss

It's a time of celebration for a Montana family. Gina Lee Gossett's baby boy, Oliver, is about to turn 1 year old. But their journey to his birth was difficult.

Gina and her husband, Dan, learned they were expecting a baby in 2016, just before she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Her doctors at University of Washington Medical Center ended up saving her life twice, but she no longer could have children on her own. So she sent a plea out on Facebook, and her friend, Lori Ross, agreed to be a gestational carrier, which meant she bore their infant for the couple.

Ross now is also advocating for more postpartum support for surrogates. She writes about her journey in her blog
