Cost reductions due to COVID-19 crisis

UW Medicine announced a plan for cost reductions to address the financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. A part of that includes furloughs for employees.

"This is very tough decision. We know that this impacts people and we’re doing everything possible to make that as small as possible and to make sure we get back on strong financial footing," says Lisa Brandenburg, president of UW Medicine hospitals and clinics.
