Clarivate announces Highly Cited Researchers 2024

The list recognizes scientists whose publications significantly influenced the work of other researchers.

Media Contact:

More than 30 scientists have been named to the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2024 list for work conducted over the past few years at the UW School of Medicine or the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. The evaluation and selection for the list draws on data from the Web of Science™ citation index, together with analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate™.

Being highly cited in the papers of other researchers is an indication of the influence of a scientist’s published work on the greater scientific community.

Among the UW Medicine or Fred Hutch Cancer Center topics of major interests to other scientists were analyses of data from Global Burden of Disease studies, cancer immunotherapies, predictive models of COVID incidence in various geographical areas, human and great ape genome sequencing, community spread of respiratory infections, coronavirus infection mechanisms, decoding vertebrate development, information molecules that cross the blood-brain barrier, new genomic technologies, and novel protein design.
