In 2018, Deborah Railton’s life was saved when she was rushed to Harborview Medical Center after experiencing a severe headache. Doctors discovered she had a ruptured brain aneurysm. Dr. Michael Levitt from UW Medicine performed surgery to stop the bleeding. The surgery successfully repaired the aneurysm, allowing her to live a mostly normal life.

Six years later, during routine follow-up imaging, Levitt discovered the aneurysm was recurring. He performed another surgery in Harborview’s hybrid operating room, which combines imaging and surgery in one space. The room allows surgeons to view the procedure in real time, eliminating the need to transport patients between operating and imaging rooms.

Railton is grateful for the advanced care available at Harborview and for the skilled medical team that treated her. “I’m very blessed to be here,” she said.
