An algorithm to tailor cancer treatments
Pamela Becker, a UW professor of medicine (hematology) and a faculty member at the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, and Su-In Lee, UW associate professor of computer sciences and engineering and genome sciences, discuss their study.
They are using a machine-learning algorithm to tailor treatments for patients with acute myeloid leukemia. The algorithm was built to predict which drugs are most likely to successfully treat individual cases.
Becker discusses the topic in this downloadable video segment.
