Stem cell trial's upbeat interim findings
Download video (broadcast and web versions) of Drs. Martin Childers and David Mack, researchers at the University of Washington School of Medicine, discussing favorable interim results from the first patients treated for X-linked myotubular myopathy, a rare muscle-wasting disease that affects young boys. Their research at the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine showed that the therapy successfully treated dogs with a form of muscular dystrophy. That same therapy is now being tested in the clinical trial of patients.
Childers discusses the topic in this downloadable video segment.
