Staying cool in a heat wave

With higher-than-expected temperatures in Seattle and along the West Coast this week, doctors say it's important to be vigilant about how your body is feeling.

Dr. Stephen Morris, an emergency medicine specialist with UW Medicine, says heat stroke and dehydration often lead to emergency department visits in these conditions. That's why when you first notice signs of heat stroke, which include fatigue and dizziness, you should stop your activity, get out of the heat, and drink water.

Morris also discusses how quickly cars can heat up in the sun and how to safely enjoy water activities.
