Sexual-violence expert discusses trauma, stresses

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 1 in 20 women and men (5.6% and 5.3%, respectively) reported experiencing sexual violence other than rape in a nationally represented survey of adults.   

Lucy Berliner, director of Harborview's Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress, discusses the issue. Her activities include clinical practice with child and adult victims of trauma and crime, research on the impact of trauma, and the effectiveness of clinical and societal interventions.
