The sun brings people outside to play and bask, but it also holds the potential to cause melanomas and other cancers among people who don't safeguard their skin. Even when it's cloudy, the sun's UV rays can damage your skin if it is not sufficiently protected with clothing or sunscreen. 

UW Medicine dermatologist Lindsay Gunnell presents facts about sunscreen's safety and UV rays potency, and offers other ideas for avoiding the sun's harsh side effects.
