Providers brace for variant unknowns, seasonal risks
As winter nears, and with the emergence of the new variant of concern omicron, healthcare providers are preparing for the novel coronavirus’ next moves.
UW Medicine’s Dr. John Lynch, Harborview Medical Center’s medical director for infection prevention and control, says widespread vaccinations remain the best investment in your health and the public's health.
“I have optimism,” said Lynch, “but I'm also being very pragmatic in preparing for what could be a rough winter with COVID circulating at high levels, and influenza and other viruses creating additional complexity.”
COVID-19 vaccination appointments are available through UW Medicine, including for booster doses.
