UW Medicine Drs. John Lynch, Alex Greninger and Helen Chu spoke Oct. 15, 2024, with media about infectious diseases expected to be prevalent this fall. The discussion addressed the post-pandemic respiratory virus season, including the resurgence of RSV, influenza and COVID-19. Hospitals are adjusting to a more complex viral environment, with new tools and better data to track trends. Preventative measures of continued vigilance, masking in high-risk settings, and vaccinations will help prevent virus spread, they said.
