Evidence suggests antibodies protect against reinfection

One key finding emerged from a COVID-19 outbreak aboard a fishing vessel:  Neutralizing antibodies strongly appear to protect against reinfection with the virus, said Alex Greninger, assistant professor of laboratory medicine and pathology at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
