Parents who choose to donate their newborn's umbilical cord blood are not affecting their baby’s health trajectory — and doing so might help save another person's life.  In this story, Alexes Harris describes how a cord-blood transplant she received at UW Medical Center enabled her to overcome a harrowing cancer prognosis.
