Different assessment, better result for heart patient

Lisa Novak was only 44 when her energy started to seep away. The mother of three experienced chest pain and exhaustion, and collapsed on a hike.  Novak was implanted with a stent to unblock one of her coronary arteries, but still felt lackluster afterward. That's when she was told that additional blockages could only be treated with medication.

Novak sought a second opinion from Dr. James McCabe, an interventional cardiologist at the UW Medicine Heart Institute. She received another stent and is now training for a half-marathon.
