COVID-19 mobile vaccine clinic visits Federal Way

This week UW Medicine nurses and staff from Harborview Medical Center brought a pop-up clinic to the Pacific Islander Community Center in Federal Way, Washington, about 25 miles south of Seattle. The goal was to get COVID-19 vaccines to people in the South King County community, and the outreach reflected the assistance of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.  The foundation announced a million-dollar grant this week to serve that purpose.

As a longtime partner of UW Medicine, "it was an easy decision" to support efforts to broaden testing and vaccines to communities hard-hit by COVID-19, said Lara Littlefield, speaking on behalf of the foundation.

Dr. Lisa Chew, associate medical director of ambulatory services at Harborview Medical Center, said the foundation's contributions are "jump-starting and developing the infrastructure for our mobile vaccination program."
