Caregiver's message to people of color: Get vaccination

Some people feel uneasy about the COVID-19 vaccine, but frontline workers are asking community members to trust the science.  Jules Mack, a respiratory clinical specialist, works in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center. To her, the vaccine is an extra layer of protection when she's out in the community. She encourages everyone to get the shot when it becomes available.

"I know it is challenging a lot of times to come into a hospital and you don’t see people who don’t look like you, but I am one person saying that this vaccine will prevent you from getting the serious type of COVID and passing away and dying from this," she says. "I think people of color need to know that this is a virus that is not going away anytime soon, and so we need to take those extra measures to protect ourselves."
