Paying attention to what you eat and what your baby eats during the first 1,000 days of life – preconception through 2 years old – has been gaining stature in the medical community for several years now.
“The genes listen to their environment,” said UW Medicine dietitian Judy Simon. She discusses how what you eat, even before you become pregnant, shapes your baby’s health.
