Update: UW Medicine requires masks for staff
Starting April 27, all UW Medicine faculty and staff must wear masks on clinical sites. Masking at all times will reduce exposure and transmission, especially from individuals who are infected but not showing symptoms. Masks are being required in anticipation of the loosening, over the next month, of physical-distancing measures enacted in March.
"As we start to welcome more patients back into our clinics, we are feeling like this is the best way to keep our patients and our staff absolutely safe," said Lisa Brandenburg, president of UW Medicine hospitals and clinics.
