South Korea’s Minister of Health and Welfare Cho Kyoo Hong visited with a group of UW Medicine leaders, including Interim CEO and Dean of the School of Medicine Dr. Tim Dellit, for a discussion on healthcare and a tour of the Institute for Protein Design on August 4.
Minister Cho led a delegation of seven Ministry professionals during the visit. The delegation also attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Senior Officials’ and Ministerial meetings while in Seattle.
Topics covered during the collaborative discussion included providing care in rural areas, supporting doctors in balancing research ambitions with clinical duties, and preparing for possible future pandemics.
