In response to huge demand by students and faculty, the University of Washington School of Nursing has launched a center to elevate and promote global health nursing activities both locally and abroad. 

Every year, nurse researchers conduct and publish thousands of studies that seek to improve clinical practice, prevent disease and disability, and improve the health of myriad populations of people. 

For over 20 years, Col. Grethe Cammermeyer advocated for the rights of gays and lesbians to serve openly in the United States military. She is credited as one of the driving forces behind the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” in 2011.

The past decade has been a tumultuous story for Eric Seitz. Homeless and addicted to heroin, he found himself at Harborview Medical Center with a disease that nearly killed him. The experience also inspired him to study nursing.
