UW Medicine weighs in on proposed Montana med school
Osteopathic college would compete with WWAMI program for clinical-training sites, UW leaders assert

Leaders of UW Medicine's regional doctor-training program expressed deep concern about a private, for-profit osteopathic medical school proposed in Montana.
The Burrell Group of New Mexico has proposed building the Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bozeman to train up to 600 students.
That school would compete with, rather than complement, the five-state cooperative WWAMI training program, said a letter signed by Dr. Paul Ramsey, CEO of the UW School of Medicine, and two colleagues.
