UW Medical Center ranks highly in annual best hospitals list

UW Medicine announced today, July 22, that UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and Valley Medical Center were recognized in U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals 2015-16 state, regional and metro rankings.
- UW Medical Center: Ranked No. 1 in the Seattle Metro area and No. 1 in Washington state.
- Valley Medical Center: Ranked No. 4 in the Seattle Metro area and No. 6 in Washington state.
- Harborview Medical Center: Ranked No. 6 in the Seattle Metro area and No. 11 in Washington state.
UW Medical Center is nationally ranked in the top 10 for two specialties: Rehabilitation (No. 4) and Cancer (No. 5). Cancer care is provided through the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance of UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Children’s.
UW Medical Center’s other specialties ranked in the national top 30 were Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, and Urology.
UW Medical Center received a national “high performing” designation in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Harborview Medical Center is nationally high performing in Orthopedics.
