Stu Farber, UW palliative care pioneer and teacher, dies

Training center he developed will graduate its first class this month

Dr. Stu Farber, a founder of UW Medicine's palliative care service who helped patients and their families prepare for life’s end, died Friday at age 67. He had battled acute myelogenous leukemia.

Farber was grateful, he told his family, that he could spend his last days at home, as was his wish.
