More people consume eateries’ calorie-list info, study shows
King County finding gives hope, though disparities emerge

Customers' awareness of their caloric intake tripled in King County after restaurant menus began labeling food items, a new study finds.
The finding suggests that making such information available can have a meaningful impact on consumers' health, said said Roxana Chen, a scientist with Public Health - Seattle & King County. Chen, who led the study, is also a UW affiliate assistant professor in the School of Public Health.
Nevertheless, disparities emerged in terms of who put the caloric information into action.
