Results from landmark study published Monday could change standard thinking about hypertension, which affects more than 70 million people in the United States. 

UW Medicine cardiologist Eugene Yang discusses findings from the study, which was halted in September, nearly two years early, when it became clear that radically lowering blood pressure for many people older than 50 helped prevent heart attacks.
