4 months in an RV, delivering care on Coeur d’Alene’s streets
Delivering healthcare in a refurbished RV has an appeal far different than a clinic setting, says Kira Sandon. In training for her physician assistant degree in the UW's MEDEX program, she and her mentor are attending to people on the streets of Couer d'Alene, Idaho.
“We take the mobile unit to them. We go where they are, where they gather, such as the shelters, soup kitchens, and food banks, and they come on for all of their medical needs, essentially.”
