30% of global populace overweight or obese
Nearly 30% of the world’s population is either obese or overweight, according to a new analysis of data from 188 nations. Obesity's advance in the past 30 years has been substantial and it now constitutes a public health epidemic worldwide, according to research led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.
Findings were published today in The Lancet. The results are also available in an online tool.
