Segment: Lifesaving with an AED

Less than a year ago, an auto external defibrillator saved 43-year-old Joy Cruz, who had suffered a heart attack while playing soccer. His last memory of that event is that everything in his vision turned gray.

The quick response of Cruz's friends to find an AED at the school where they were playing increased his chances of survival, said UW Medicine emergency medicine physician Michael Sayre.  "We are seeing an increase in AED use by members of the public."
