Segment: Achievement, not victory, drives Olympians

As the Special Olympics drew the nation's attention to Seattle, former powerlifter Paula Houston volunteered to work with the competitors in that event. She marveled at their enthusiasm. 

"One of the things that's rewarding about Special Olympics is to see the joy that comes from competing; it really isn't all about winning. ... If you're having a bad day, just to be in front of (the competitors) them will boost your spirits," said Houston, who is UW Medicine's director of director of healthcare equity.
