Soundbites: Link between eye disease, Alzheimer's

Dr. Cecilia Lee, assistant professor of opthalmology with the University of Washington School of Medicine, is lead author of a study published Aug. 8 in Alzheimer's & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association, on a large study linking people with certain eye conditions -- age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma --  to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.
