Additional hardships darken 'winter blues' this year
Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a common form of depression that happens with a change in the seasons. This winter is proving to be even tougher with the coronavirus and cultural and economic stressors.
Bryna McCollum, a physician assistant at UW Neighborhood Northgate Clinic, explains there are three main ways to treat SAD: light therapy, medication, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
