UW Medicine therapies address opioid addiction

Seattle specialists have for decades been leaders in managing the widely variable condition of pain.

Virtual reality and hypnosis are two ways that UW Medicine pain-medicine specialists are trying to reduce patients' dependence on opioids. 

Included in this PBS special report are Dr. David Tauben, David Patterson and Hunter Hoffman, and the "father of pain medicine," Dr. John Bonica.
