Once homeless, now they are creating art

November 24, 2017

Living on the streets is hard. But what Harborview researchers found through a series of focus groups is that one of the things people without homes missed in their daily lives is art, music and poetry. “Telling our stories: art and homelessness,” is an art show at the UW School of Social Work  by residents of 1811 Eastlake, a low-barrier housing project. The artists are part of the LEAP -- a Life Enchancing Alcohol-management Program -- Artist Collective Program.
