Exercise critical to keeping healthy while aging

KOMO-TV interviews director of the Fall Prevention Clinic at UW Medicine Harborview

Dr. Elizabeth Phelan, director of the Fall Prevention Clinic at UW Medicine Harborview, spoke to Molly Shen with KOMO-TV on the importance of exercise as we age.

"Even in late life, people can benefit greatly from actually starting, Phelan said.  It's never too late to start a balance program, for example."

In addition to strength and balance, the National Institute on Aging recommends people work on flexibility and endurance, as part of the Go4Life program.
