Boxing relieves patients' Parkinson's symptoms

A UW Medicine patient was on the front edge of a new trend: using boxing to regain mobility.

About 1 million people in the United States live with Parkinson’s, a neurological disease with no known cure that affects mobility. Suzanne Taitingfong has reduced Parkinson's effect on her life by putting on boxing gloves.

Her doctor, neurosurgeon Andrew Ko, says the patients can recapture lost agility and slow the disease's detrimental symptoms.
