From apps to avatars - new tools for mental health

The Washington Post interviews Dror Ben-Zeev in psychiatry about a program to help people with severe mental illness

The Washington Post takes a look at some promising new digital tools to help people with their mental health. Dror Ben-Zeev, Ph.D., a professor of psychiatry at the UW School of Medicine and co-director of the UW's Behavioral Research in Technology and Engineering (BRiTE) Center, which seeks technological solutions for mental health, is quoted.

Ben-Zeev discusses a smartphone app called FOCUS, which addresses auditory hallucinations (“hearing voices”), mood problems, sleep, social-functioning problems, and medication use for people with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.
